Original Creation

Fantasy crossing

Voy Kay 20 May 2020

I feel comfortable with bridges so will try some every now and then. Today I have chosen this one with a small romantic encounter on it. Although placed in the center, the couple does take some but not all the attention in this painting. The background is the 'fantasy' element in it although, if you can understand the artist, the blue is considered a rock, with a fall (white), next to the sunlight (yellow) and fading out in a distant sunset(pink/red). Hope you will all like this one!
Canvas used was a high quality 12"x16", prepared with liquid white. No fewer then four different script liners/line brushes were used for this! In all this took some 80 minutes to do with the hardest part being the couple and the birds (because of my small dominant hand handicap which makes microsized objects a real struggle).
Please read, enjoy and comment on some articles from the community, stay safe and ... dream/embrace a fantasy now and then!

It's real fantasy! Beautiful bacground ,you are on roll!
I really like your creation.

Jin, always a great pleasure reading your precious cheers and comments!
The colours indeed indicate this is an existant situation (couple on a bridge) but in a fantasy setting, without exaggerating it. I so much adored painting this creation, I never felt bored, stressed or unmotivated for one second!
Till soon!

What an amazing image- just fantastic. You really nailed this one!!! Nice work.

MHK! I missed you! :)
Thank you for loving this one. I just checked the Original and the couple is way more prominent there, where I personally believe the environment should be the centerpiece. I am VERY glad I did my own thing!
Till next one!

It's really quite brilliant! My first impression: it appears as though the world has turned sideways and the people have adapted. (Quite fitting with the way it feels for real right now.) It is (for my interpretation) perfectly timed and very well done.

I didn't go anywhere. I'm working on my largest painting to date 48' x 36', hopefully it turns out well, but I'll share it either way. But it is time consuming to layer oil on such a large piece. I'll have to get into acrylics ;-) It's a work in progress

Dear Froggie, an excellent comment from you! The vertical colouring was indeed intended to show a world (background) out of line, in this case 90°. And yes, it shows similarities with how the world has collapsed nowadays with Corona.
I am so glad you spotted this!!!!

Dear MHk, you are Always very present in my book! I adore your projects and hearing now of your future giant masterpiece … I am very anxious and awaiting it!
Take care my friend, I'm wishing you health, motivation and inspiration!!

Tom, so glad you like this! You know, this could be easily done with acrylics as well, really! Maybe you like to try this one someday, it would be awesome!!
Till next one my friend!

Voy,

You just got the best compliment I'd no how to give you. My 9 year old daughter (Daddy's little girl) is sitting next to me and saw your painting and said to me: "Dad why can't you paint something like that, it's so pretty" ;-)

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

Hahaha …. what a darling daughter you have!!
Please give that precious treasure of yours a big hug from me!!
And for dad, I can only try to motivate you to create something similar! And …. your creations also dazzle me most of the times, never worries there!

Pleasant dreams!!

Dear Voy, Yes! That's exactly what I was talking about. And I was indeed referencing the Covid crisis turning the world on its ear. You did a lovely job of capturing what I'm sure a lot of people are feeling. It's also very pretty. I see hope in this piece. I may try something similar. Thank you for the inspiration and for sharing. Stay healthy, and happy painting!

Dear Froggie, you spotted indeed something that I hadn't intended and it is hope! The two people indicate that, as well as the soft growing trees and the two active birds.
The earth might stand still for a while but it still has a hearbeat! The crossing here can thus also been seen as a pathway from bad times to good times.

I so much hope you will try something similar, I would be your number one spectator!! Have fun!!

Voy, this is wonderful and very creative painting.
My favorite spot here is what happens under the bridge. Those plants like from the movies where humanity almost disappeared and nature takes its way. I like that you put your signature in red and it kind of creates illusion of flowers and connects those people on the bridge to the nature. May be they are last two who survived in that world...

Dear Sunnylady, your cheers and comments are my fuel for creativity!
You spotted well, the bridge covers no water (intentionally) so all attention goes to background, nature and the couple.
Nice remark on the flower signature …. now that I looked again from some distance, it really looks like flowers!

Beautiful colors in this painting
